Ventura, CA – March 6, 2024 – A dramatic high-speed chase involving a stolen Lowe’s box truck concluded in Ventura on Wednesday, March 6, after a nearly two-hour pursuit through Culver City, Santa Monica, Malibu, Camarillo, Agoura, Newbury Park, and Ventura County. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) arrested the suspect after a tense standoff.
The chase began when the suspect, driving the stolen truck loaded with appliances, evaded authorities, weaving through traffic and briefly driving the wrong way on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu. The pursuit ended off the 101 Freeway at the North Bank Drive exit in Ventura, where the truck became stuck in a grassy area. The suspect fled on foot after CHP deployed less-lethal measures, including bean bag rounds, but was quickly tackled and arrested by CHP Ventura. No injuries were reported, and the LAPD and CHP are investigating the theft and chase.
