Simi Valley, CA – On May 9, 2025, at 9:35 p.m., the Ventura County Fire Department (VCFD) responded to a single-vehicle rollover crash on Santa Susana Pass Road, just west of the Rocky Peak bridge, where a Ford F-150 pickup truck was found resting on its left side. The adult male driver escaped the vehicle unharmed.

VCFD units arrived at the scene to find a Ford F-150 overturned on Santa Susana Pass Road, a narrow, curving thoroughfare, per a VCFD alert. The driver, a man in his 30s, had self-extricated and showed no visible injuries, declining medical transport. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) Moorpark station, also on scene, is investigating the cause, with preliminary reports suggesting the driver may have misjudged a turn, possibly compounded by excessive speed, though no official determination has been made.

No other vehicles were involved, and no environmental hazards, such as fuel leaks, were reported. The crash caused a temporary closure of Santa Susana Pass Road, with traffic rerouted until the truck was towed by 11:00 p.m. The incident’s location, near the Rocky Peak bridge, is a known trouble spot for sharp curves.
