Simi Valley, CA — A jarring collision between a pickup truck and an SUV disrupted traffic along E. Los Angeles Avenue in Simi Valley on Thursday evening, May 15, 2025. At approximately 8:55 p.m., the Ventura County Fire Department and Simi Valley Police Department responded to a chaotic scene at the intersection of E. Los Angeles Avenue and Stow Street, where a Chevrolet Silverado and a Hyundai SUV had collided with devastating force.

The crash left both vehicles heavily damaged: the Silverado bore deep gashes along its right side, while the SUV’s front end was crumpled beyond recognition. Both came to a stop on the westbound side of the avenue, blocking lanes and halting traffic. Emergency crews worked swiftly to secure the area. The driver of the Silverado, an adult male and the sole occupant, was transported by American Medical Response (AMR) ambulance to a local hospital for further evaluation. The driver of the SUV, an adult female also traveling alone, initially declined medical transport, though authorities have not confirmed whether she later sought treatment. Miraculously, both drivers appeared to escape significant injuries at the scene, a relief amid the wreckage.

The Simi Valley Police Department has launched an investigation to determine the cause of the collision, which remains under wraps as officers piece together witness accounts and evidence. The intersection was temporarily closed to allow crews to clear debris and ensure the area was safe, leaving drivers to navigate detours through the city’s bustling streets. Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution at intersections and remain attentive behind the wheel to prevent future incidents. The investigation is ongoing, and further details are expected as police continue their work.
