Simi Valley, CA – On Thursday, July 17, 2025, at approximately 6:45 p.m., the Ventura County Fire Department, Simi Valley Police Department, and AMR Ventura County responded to a traffic collision involving a Mini Cooper and an adult male bicyclist at the 2900 block of Cochran Street, near the entrance to the Target parking lot by Starbucks.

The incident occurred just 20 minutes after another collision at East Los Angeles and Sequoia Avenues. The bicyclist was struck by the Mini Cooper while entering the parking lot. Authorities reported that the bicyclist appeared uninjured or sustained only minor injuries, as paramedics did not transport him to a hospital. A bystander noted that the man mentioned he was waiting for a ride home. The Mini Cooper was parked on the west side of the entryway near Starbucks, but no details about the driver were provided.
The cause of the collision is under investigation, and police are urging drivers and cyclists to exercise caution in busy commercial areas.
