Woodland Hills, CA — On July 1, 2025, at approximately 8:30 PM, the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) responded to a structure fire in the 21800 block of Burbank Boulevard. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered a three-story townhome with significant fire activity on the second and third floors, with flames breaching the roof.
A force of 83 LAFD firefighters mounted a rapid and aggressive offensive operation, effectively containing the blaze to the single affected unit. Their efforts prevented the fire from spreading to adjacent townhomes sharing common walls, safeguarding the surrounding Woodland Hills community. The fire, which consumed both living floors above the parking level, was fully extinguished by 8:59 PM.
During the operation, firefighters successfully rescued one cat from the burning residence. The animal is currently under medical evaluation and receiving treatment from LAFD personnel. No human injuries have been reported.
