West Hills, CA – In the early hours of Friday, May 16, 2025, at approximately 1:25 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of Platt Ave. and Victory Blvd. in West Hills, where two vehicles were involved in a severe crash. LAPD officers arrived to find a white pickup truck abandoned at the scene and a black compact vehicle with significant damage. The driver of the white truck, suspected of driving under the influence (DUI), fled on foot westbound on Victory Blvd. toward Valley Circle. Despite a thorough canvass of the area, LAPD was unable to locate the suspect.

A woman in her 50s, the sole occupant of the black compact vehicle, was injured in the collision. Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) paramedics transported her to a local hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash. The extent of her injuries has not been disclosed.
The LAPD’s Topanga Division is actively investigating the incident, including the suspected DUI and hit-and-run. Authorities are working to identify the suspect and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
The intersection was temporarily closed while police processed the scene and cleared the wreckage.
