WEST HILLS, CA — On Saturday, July 19, 2025, at approximately 1:00 a.m., the Los Angeles Police Department’s Topanga Division responded to a break-in at the Jersey Mike’s Subs located at 22816 Vanowen St. Officers arrived to find the front window shattered, the store’s alarm blaring, and a large metal pole—resembling a 45-pound weightlifting bar—left behind at the scene.

Upon investigation, police discovered that the cash register had been broken into, though it remains unclear if any money or other items were stolen. According to LAPD officers, this incident is part of a pattern, as several other Jersey Mike’s locations in the area have experienced similar break-ins in recent weeks. The suspect fled before officers arrived, and no description of the individual has been released.

The LAPD is actively investigating the incident and is working to determine if the break-ins are connected. Authorities are asking anyone with information, including potential surveillance footage from nearby businesses or residences, to contact the Topanga Division at (818) 756-4800 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at (800) 222-TIPS.

The Jersey Mike’s location remains temporarily closed for repairs, and management has not yet commented on the incident. This break-in has raised concerns among local business owners about nighttime security in the West Hills area.
