WEST HILLS, CA – October 13, 2023 A serious two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Platt Avenue and Victory Boulevard in West Hills sent two people to the hospital Friday evening, one in critical condition. The crash occurred at approximately 5:18 p.m., involving a white Ford Explorer and a second vehicle. When Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) crews arrived on scene, they discovered the driver of the Explorer unresponsive and trapped inside the vehicle. Due to the severity of the entrapment, the incident was upgraded to a physical rescue, prompting the addition of more fire engines and emergency personnel. Firefighters worked urgently to extricate the woman from the wreckage using specialized tools.
Once freed, the woman was transported to a local hospital in critical condition. The driver of the second vehicle was also transported to the hospital, though their condition was described as unknown at the time of the report. Authorities temporarily closed lanes in the area as emergency crews rendered aid and investigated the cause of the crash.
