Los Angeles, CA — On August 23, 2025, at approximately 4:00 PM, the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) responded to reports of a shooting in the 2300 block of West 23rd Street. Officers deployed a drone to search a residence, discovering blood throughout the house, indicating one person was injured and down inside, believed not to be the suspect.

Witnesses reported the suspect fled into a nearby house. Officers fired several less-lethal rounds at multiple cameras installed at the property. LAPD SWAT and K9 units were called to assist in apprehending the suspect and ensuring the safety of nearby residents. The suspect, who remained barricaded for several hours, fired at officers, prompting LAPD SWAT to engage, resulting in the suspect’s death.
The LAPD is continuing its investigation and urges anyone with information to contact authorities.
