RESEDA, Calif. — A violent incident unfolded early Monday morning, June 24, 2025, at the Denny’s restaurant at the corner of Reseda Boulevard and Saticoy Street in Reseda, CA, leaving patrons shaken and the establishment damaged. At approximately 12:30 a.m., Los Angeles Police Department’s 911 dispatch received a call reporting a man wielding a large knife assaulting guests inside the restaurant. According to authorities, the suspect not only threatened and assaulted customers but also shattered the front glass door of the Denny’s. Responding officers from the LAPD West Valley Division arrived promptly at the scene, where they took the suspect into custody without further incident. The large knife allegedly used in the attack was recovered by police at the scene.
Witnesses, maintaining a safe distance for themselves, positively identified the suspect as the individual brandishing the sharp object. No serious injuries were reported among the guests, though the exact number of victims assaulted remains under investigation. The suspect was transported to the West Valley Community Police Station for booking, and their identity has not yet been released pending further investigation. The motive behind the attack is unclear at this time, and LAPD West Valley detectives are actively investigating the circumstances leading to the incident. The damaged front door has temporarily disrupted operations at the Denny’s, and management is cooperating with law enforcement to assess the situation.
