Northridge, CA – October 24, 2023 Chaos erupted Tuesday evening near the Northridge Fashion Center, as multiple 911 calls reported an active shooting outside Bar Louie, a popular restaurant and nightlife spot. The incident triggered a swift and coordinated response from LAPD, with at least six suspects taken into custody and one suspect still outstanding as of late Tuesday night.
According to initial reports, the shooting occurred just outside the mall, sending bystanders scrambling for safety. In the aftermath, police found that windows of a nearby sushi restaurant had been shattered by gunfire, indicating shots may have been fired in multiple directions. Witnesses told authorities that the suspects fled the scene in a gray Honda Civic, prompting a search across the surrounding area. In a key development, LAPD officers discovered bullet holes inside a silver SUV parked just outside the AMC theater, approximately 1,000 feet from the initial shooting location.
Further investigation of the AMC parking lot revealed multiple ammunition casings, confirming that a portion of the shooting extended into or near that area. Despite the widespread panic, there have been no confirmed reports of injuries at this time. Police have not released the names of those taken into custody or detailed what led up to the shooting.
LAPD continues to investigate and search for the remaining suspect. Authorities have increased patrols around the Northridge Mall area and are urging anyone with information or footage of the incident to contact LAPD’s Devonshire Division.
