Los Angeles, CA – May 16, 2025 – A Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officer-involved shooting occurred today in the Foothill Division at 7845 Beck Avenue, leaving one suspect in custody with multiple gunshot wounds and an additional victim with stab wounds.
According to radio traffic from the LAPD, Foothill Division officers responded to a call at approximately 1:00pm regarding a man with a knife at the residential address. Upon arrival, officers encountered a suspect who was later identified as 23 year old Jose Gonzalez Ramos who was armed with a knife and engaged in a confrontation after he stabbed his wife. The situation escalated, resulting in officers discharging their firearm after Jose advanced twords the officers. A large knife with a white handle was seen at the scene next to a pool of blood.

The suspect was immediately taken into custody. The suspect later at the hospital succumbed to the injures sustained from the shooting.
During the incident, officers discovered an additional victim Joses wife at the scene suffering from stab wounds. The victim was promptly transported to a nearby medical facility for emergency treatment. The suspects wife was transported to the hospital and later passed away from her injuries at the hospital.
A third patient, a female in her 20-30s was checked out by paramedics on scene and are transporting her to a local hospital with unknown injuries.
The scene at 7845 Beck Avenue will be cordoned off for several hours as investigators processed evidence and interviewed potential witnesses.
