On Saturday, July 19, 2025, a dramatic police pursuit that began on the Pacific Coast Highway concluded in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles between 3:50 p.m. and 4:50 p.m. The chase, involving a white pickup truck, ended with the suspect’s arrest near Scott Ave. and Alvarado St. after a tactical intervention by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD).
The pursuit started when the suspect, driving the white pickup, rammed into a police vehicle, prompting officers to deploy a spike strip to slow the vehicle. The chase primarily followed Wilshire Blvd., with police maintaining a safe distance from the suspect. Footage captured the truck passing Norton Ave. and Wilshire Blvd. during the pursuit, followed by a second sighting at Alvarado St. and 3rd St.
As the suspect turned onto Alvarado St., LAPD escalated their response, dispatching additional units to the scene. The pursuit came to a close near Scott Ave. and Alvarado St., where officers executed a successful PIT (Precision Immobilization Technique) maneuver, forcing the truck to a stop. The suspect was promptly taken into custody.
No injuries were reported during the incident, and the investigation into the suspect’s motives and the circumstances leading to the pursuit remains ongoing. LAPD has not released the suspect’s identity or additional details at this time.
