Chatsworth, CA – On Thursday, July 17, 2025, at 7:49 p.m., the Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a reported water flow incident at a two-story commercial storage warehouse located at 9100 block of Independence Avenue. Upon arrival, firefighters observed water and moderate smoke emanating from the 300’ x 400’ building.

Crews forced entry and operated in offensive mode, discovering several stacks of burning pallets inside. The fire was confined to a small area, largely due to the activation of the building’s sprinkler system. Knockdown was declared within 37 minutes by 47 firefighters. No victims or injuries were reported.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) and Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) were requested to assist at the scene.
