Canoga Park, CA – May 29, 2025, 10:45 PM Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) officers responded to a call at 6670 Glade Ave. in Canoga Park on Thursday night following reports of an arson suspect at a three-story apartment complex. The incident, which unfolded around 10:45 PM, led to the arrest of a female suspect wearing a bikini.
According to authorities, the suspect allegedly set fire to an apartment within the complex. LAPD officers requested backup and successfully took the woman into custody without further incident. The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) was quickly dispatched to the scene to address the blaze. Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire promptly, preventing it from spreading to other units in the building. No injuries were reported, and damage was contained to the affected apartment.
An altercation occurred at the scene involving the owner of the apartment that caught fire and a vehicle that crashed into LAFD Engine 84. The collision prompted a separate investigation by the LAPD Valley Traffic Division, which is now examining the circumstances surrounding the crash.
