The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is investigating multiple armed robbery incidents reported Tuesday evening in the Calabasas and Westlake Village areas.

The first incident occurred at approximately 7:39pm at the Calabasas Commons shopping center. A woman in her 40s was approached by a male suspect who pointed a black semi automatic handgun and demanded her Louis Vuitton purse. The victim complied, and the suspect fled on foot through the parking lot, heading westbound.
The suspect is described as a Black male, wearing all black clothing, with long dreadlocks.

Deputies from LASD Lost Hills Station responded within minutes and conducted a search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
Similarities to a previous armed robbery that occurred on January 13, when a female victim was robbed of a designer handbag at gunpoint in the same general area. During that incident, deputies apprehended the suspect on foot near the intersection of Calabasas Road and Valley Circle Boulevard.
Later this evening, at approximately 9:00pm an hour after the incident at the commons, an attempted armed robbery was reported at the TJ Maxx located near Thousand Oaks Boulevard and Lindero Canyon Road in Westlake Village. Deputies said a woman at the store was approached by a Black male suspect with a mask, wearing black clothing and a beige hoodie, who attempted to rob her at gunpoint. She started honking her car horn and scared the suspect.

The suspect fled the scene, entered a white sedan, and was last seen traveling on Thousand Oaks Boulevard. No injuries were reported.

Deputies from LASD Lost Hills Station are actively investigating the incidents. It is unclear at this time if the cases are related. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact LASD Lost Hills Station or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
