AGOURA HILLS, CA — A devastating fire tore through a residential complex in Agoura Hills on Thursday evening, May 9, 2025, leaving a trail of destruction in its wake. At 5:05 PM, the Los Angeles County Fire Department rushed to the 5300 block of Colodny Drive after reports of a structure fire. Firefighters arrived to a chaotic scene: a row of apartment units perched above a parking structure was swallowed by towering flames, with thick black smoke choking the sky.
The blaze, which authorities believe sparked from a vehicle in the parking area below, spread with ferocious speed, engulfing at least four residential units and incinerating three vehicles. The inferno’s intensity prompted a massive response, with Ventura County Fire Department and Los Angeles City Fire Department joining forces to battle the flames. Firefighters fought relentlessly, wielding hoses and axes to tame the fire and prevent it from consuming neighboring structures. The neighborhood remains cordoned off as fire crews comb through the wreckage, searching for answers. Investigators are now working to pinpoint the exact cause of the fire, which displaced residents and shattered the quiet of this Agoura Hills enclave. “This was a fast-moving, devastating fire,” said an LA County Fire spokesperson. “We’re grateful for the support from our mutual aid partners and the tireless efforts of our crews.” Video Credit: Brit – Agoura FB Group
