Simi Valley, CA Emergency crews responded to a serious single-vehicle crash Monday afternoon after a pickup truck struck a tree near a busy Simi Valley intersection.

At approximately 1:41 p.m. on March 9, personnel from the Ventura County Fire Department, Simi Valley Police Department, and AMR Ventura County were dispatched to a traffic collision at Yosemite Avenue and East Los Angeles Avenue in Simi Valley.
Authorities say a white Ford Maverick work pickup traveling southbound on Yosemite Avenue left the roadway and crashed into a tree just north of the intersection, coming to rest on the southeast corner near the Alliance Gas Station.

Although not yet confirmed, officials at the scene indicated the adult male driver may have suffered a medical emergency prior to the crash, causing him to lose control of the vehicle and crash .
Paramedics performed CPR on the driver for approximately 30 to 40 minutes. One police officer at the scene stated the man initially lost his pulse but that paramedics were able to regain it.
The victim was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital in unknown condition. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
